The Lansing Lugnuts downed the Great Lakes Loons, 3-0, at Dow Diamond. Lansing pitcher Chris Daniels definitely brought his A-game. Daniels picked up the win for Lansing, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 11-9. Jose Castillo earned his 3rd save in 5 chances.
Mario Silva had a direct impact on the outcome. Silva contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Lansing up, 2-0.
"Really good pitchers have that ability to raise their game when they need to," said Lansing manager Phil Phalen.
The win elevated the Lugnuts to 64-62.
