Chiefs Claim 3-1 Triumph

The Peoria Chiefs racked up a win at Dozer Park, bumping off the Kane County Cougars, 3-1. Simon Juneau, who started for Peoria, pitched effectively for his team. Tom Likins wrapped it up, recording his 13th save. Peoria is in 4th place in the Western Division with a record of 69-60.
Had Tim Thompson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Thompson hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Chiefs.
"The key for me has just been attacking the zone and hitting my spots. When I'm throwing strikes and not falling behind in counts, those are the days when I pitch really good," said Juneau.
