Chiefs Win with Late Heroics
|
The Peoria Chiefs banked on Ricky Fifield and he turned in a masterful performance. The right-hander kept the Wisconsin hitters in check. The final score was 1-0, Chiefs, in 10 innings. Peoria is in second place in the Western Division with a record of 81-48.
The Chiefs got a clutch hit from shortstop Brian Burns. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Chiefs.
"I'm proud of the way we played. It's fun playing baseball like that," said Chiefs manager Tommy Davenport.
