Late Offense Lifts Cedar Rapids to 4-3 Victory
Clinton got a valiant performance from pitcher Eric Herdman, but it wasn't enough to beat the Cedar Rapids Kernels. Cedar Rapids won the game, 4-3. Herdman threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The 7th-place Kernels hiked their record to 55-75.

Mike Searles was the walk-off hero for Cedar Rapids. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Kernels first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

Searles described the clubhouse as "strangely calm" after the game.
