Cougars Take Down Bees, 3-2
|
Kane County picked up a win at Community Field, toppling the Burlington Bees, 3-2. Pitcher Austin Lubert was one of the reasons the Cougars triumphed. Ken Schuller came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. His record now stands at 8-2. The win puts the Cougars at 84-46, while the Bees drop to 61-69.
Brian Warfel, the 25-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Warfel contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the tenth inning to put Kane County up, 3-2.
Warfel attributed the win to his team's "hyper resolve."
