Flores Excels in 5-0 Beloit Win
Bobby Flores left his imprint on the 5-0 Beloit win against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. Flores, who is tied for 4th in the MID in home runs with 18, was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Mark Straka, the winner, improved to 1-1. He held the Timber Rattlers to no runs on 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. The save went to Troy Whitson, number 2 for him.

The Timber Rattlers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Snappers going into the bottom of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old left fielder Milt May came to the plate. May hit a 2-run home run on a 3-1 forkball from Wisconsin hurler Chase Jackson. It was May's 12th home run of the year.

"Bobby is still learning," said Snappers manager Bill Zamora. "The sky's the limit for him."

Beloit is 4th in the Western Division with a record of 65-65.
