Cubs Reel-In 5-2 Win Over Loons
|
The South Bend Cubs got a rain-soaked win over the Great Lakes Loons.
South Bend Cubs starter Nick Lippoldt turned in a top-notch performance against the Great Lakes Loons at Dow Diamond. The result was a win for the Cubs, 5-2. In 7 innings, Lippoldt surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs.
Ken Lynch contributed to the South Bend win with a solo home run in the top of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 RBI.
