The Fort Wayne TinCaps beat the Lake County Captains, 6-1. Fort Wayne pitcher and Spokane, Washington, native Tim Richmond led the way. Trenton Light finished the game for Fort Wayne and earned his 3rd save. Fort Wayne occupies last place in the Eastern Division at 54-77.

Fort Wayne used the timely hitting of Paul Higgins to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the TinCaps ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"Solid performance from our side," said TinCaps manager Michael Chiquito.
