Kernels Lose 4-1 Decision to Clinton

Clinton LumberKings pitcher Mike England was all business, helping his team muzzle the Cedar Rapids Kernels, 4-1. England, now 4-7, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 5, and allowing 1 run. Kevin Murphy closed out the game, earning his 3rd save.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Kevin Murphy didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 3rd and Cedar Rapids trailing 3-1, Murphy retired Alex Ybarra to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Murphy, with a wink.
