TinCaps Win by Slim Margin, 2-1

In a low-scoring affair between the Fort Wayne TinCaps and the Great Lakes Loons, pitcher Steve Rushe was the difference between victory and defeat. The Fort Wayne left-hander earned kudos in the 2-1 TinCaps win. The winner was Fort Wayne reliever Matt Tilghman, now 14-7. The loser was Randy Reis. With the victory, the TinCaps upped their record to 66-66.
Fort Wayne took a 2-1 lead on John Krueger's 22nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Krueger hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Great Lakes pitcher Randy Reis visibly frustrated.
"The old adage is true," said Rushe. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
