Visiting River Bandits Beat LumberKings, 4-1
|
Quad Cities and Clinton duked it out and the River Bandits came out victorious.
Dan Fagan pitched a gem to lead Quad Cities to victory over the Clinton LumberKings, 4-1. In 6.1 innings, Fagan surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 4. He allowed 1 run.
Quad Cities used the timely hitting of Ted Chapin to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the River Bandits on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Bottom line," said Clinton skipper Ty Moore, "we didn't play well enough to win."
The River Bandits move to 83-49 with the win, while the LumberKings drop to 47-85.
