Cheeks, Dragons Get 2-0 Win
|
The Dayton Dragons picked up a win at Fifth Third Field, courtesy of Brian Cheeks. The right-hander helped his team stop the Lansing Lugnuts, 2-0. Omar Jamie finished to wrap up his 3rd save. The Dragons, at 63-70, have now won 7 straight.
Cheeks was in the zone all game. He frustrated Lansing hitters while giving the Dragons 8 innings of quality work. Cheeks threw 98 pitches, allowing 6 hits and getting 8 punchouts.
"Brian was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Dayton manager Jorge Rosado.
