Flying Squirrels Score 2-1 Win Over Binghamton
|
In a low-scoring game between the Richmond Flying Squirrels and the Binghamton Mets, pitcher Rod Strader was the difference-maker. The Richmond right-hander was tough as nails in the 2-1 Flying Squirrels win. Richmond is clipping along at 13-5.
Richmond used a well-timed hit by Michael Earnest to capture the win. The third baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Flying Squirrels ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"I'm happy we won," said Strader. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
