CMC-NorthEast Stadium was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.

The Kannapolis Intimidators got a superb performance from pitcher Alberto Pacheco. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Hagerstown. The Suns won the game, 2-1. Pacheco threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Hagerstown goes to 2-0.

Hagerstown used a timely hit from Jonathan Blue to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Suns ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Hagerstown manager Mike Mathis.
