Greensboro Grasshoppers starter Matt Thornton was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the West Virginia Power, 2-1. Mario Guerrero earned his 2nd save, after closing out the game. Greensboro, now 2-0, is setting the league on fire so far.

Had Mario Silva not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Silva hit a 2-run single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Grasshoppers.
