League Punishes Pair for Fighting
Friday, August 9th , 2109
If there wasn't a history between Matt Williams of Lakewood and Oscar Ramos of Delmarva, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 8 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Williams said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
Williams is currently hitting at a .200 pace with 6 home runs and 20 RBIs. He has played in 63 games and scored 16 times.

Mora Holds Augusta Scoreless
Monday, August 5th , 2109
Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Augusta GreenJackets as starter Miguel Mora shut them out, 4-0, at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. The Lexington pitcher struck out 7 and walked 3 while allowing 1 hit.
"Mora was good but he wasn't flawless," Augusta manager Bill Mercado said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Lexington, but this is on us."
Mora has started 10 times this year, pitched 62 innings, fanned 47 batters and walked 16. His current record is 6 wins and 2 losses with a 1.74 ERA.
