In a tight game between the Kannapolis Intimidators and the Augusta GreenJackets, pitcher Ryan Bridges was terrific on the mound. The Kannapolis right-hander helped his team to the 1-0 win. The winner was Tim Stephens in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Mike Billingsley took the loss. The Intimidators raised their record to 3-1.

The decisive blow was delivered by Charlie Lugibihl in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 22-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Billingsley to win the game for Kannapolis. The home crowd went nuts.

"Ryan can bring it," said Kannapolis manager Brian Turek.
