Fireflies Get Past Lexington for 4-3 Win
|
Lexington wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Steven Armstrong, falling to the Columbia Fireflies, 4-3. Armstrong threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Columbia reliever Bill Comrie got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Chris Boldrey was tagged with the loss. Lexington is now 3-4.
Eli Knight was the walk-off hero for Columbia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Fireflies center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"If you chase it, you need to get it," said Columbia skipper Hyun-wook Choi.
