Intimidators Trip Shorebirds, 4-3
The Delmarva Shorebirds and Kannapolis Intimidators provided some drama for the home crowd.

Kannapolis registered a win at CMC-NorthEast Stadium by beating the Delmarva Shorebirds, 4-3. Pitcher Joe Drake was one reason why the Intimidators triumphed. Drake, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. Tim Stephens nailed down his 2nd save.

Kannapolis designated hitter Mike Richard contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a sinker to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 3rd hit of the season and put the Intimidators ahead, 4-1.

"Joe pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Kannapolis manager Brian Turek.

Kannapolis goes to 5-3.
