Rome got a terrific game from catcher Brian Kirby. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Lexington, 5-1. Kirby went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. Chad Belz was credited with the save for Lexington, his 1st of the season. With the loss, Rome sinks to 1-7.

Lexington used a clutch at-bat from Miguel Cruz to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Legends ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I thought we played a nice game," Cruz told the Lexington Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
