The West Virginia Power had no problem beating the Hagerstown Suns, 11-2, at Appalachian Power Park. Bobby Evans led the way. He was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for West Virginia. Dave Douglas, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-1. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.1 innings. The defending champion Power have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 5-5 with the win.

Evans contributed in the bottom of the third. With a runner on 1st, he hit a double. It was one at-bat among others that helped West Virginia get the win.

Hagerstown manager Chris Schneider called the blowout loss "ugly."
