Intimidators Run Win Streak to 10
|
Kannapolis pitcher Joe Drake had a large part in his team beating the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 4-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The loss puts Greensboro at 1-9.
The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Troy Loyd came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Greensboro pitcher Steve Garbutt, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Kannapolis on top, 4-3.
"I like our clubhouse vibe," said Kannapolis manager Brian Turek.
