Kannapolis Intimidators pitcher Mel Cruz really got it done at L.P. Frans Stadium today in his 1-0 shutout victory over the Hickory Crawdads, shutting them down on 1 hit.

"It was just one of those games where everything went right. I threw a lot of strikes," Cruz said. "And the pitches they did get to hit, they didn't do anything with them."

The 24-year-old issued 2 walks and had 6 strikeouts in the Intimidators win.
