The Columbia Fireflies picked up a win at NewBridge Bank Park, downing the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 4-3, in 10 innings. On the mound for Columbia was left-hander Anthon Dieteren, who played a pivotal role in the win. Paul Osteen, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 2.2 innings of relief. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 2. The Grasshoppers fall to 4-8 and continue their lackluster start in 2113.

Craig Nagel had a direct impact on the outcome. Nagel contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the tenth inning to put Columbia up, 4-3.
