Tourists Rally Late to Clip Greenville
|
The Asheville Tourists defeated the Greenville Drive, 4-3, in part because of left fielder Mauricio Chavarria. Chavarria was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Tourists. Justin Kroyer picked up his 1st save of the season. The triumph makes Asheville 8-5, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2107.
Ramon Roa hit a 2-run triple off Blake Jenkins in the top of the eighth, which put the Tourists in front, 4-3. Roa had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
Chavarria attributed the win to his team's "concerted effort."
