Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Lexington Legends and Delmarva Shorebirds.

Gabe Shepherd helped his team muscle past the Delmarva Shorebirds, 6-4. In the game, the Lexington designated hitter went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Manny Krill, the winner, goes to 2-1. He allowed 4 runs on 9 hits, with no walks and 7 strikeouts over 8.2 innings. Juan Sanchez finished to wrap up his 3rd save.

With Lexington trailing 2-1 in the top of the third, Shepherd hit a 2-run single off Delmarva hurler Luis Jimenez. It was the 17th hit of the season for Shepherd and put his team ahead, 3-2.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Shepherd said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
