Columbia Absorbs 6-2 Loss to Delmarva
|
Due in large part to first baseman Edwin Morell, the Delmarva Shorebirds sunk the Columbia Fireflies, 6-2. Morell went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Shorebirds, with only their 3rd win in 14 games, have not had much to write home about in 2111.
With Delmarva trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Morell hit a changeup from John Pretlow for a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Shorebirds ahead, 4-2.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Morell.
