BlueClaws Suffer 3-1 Road Loss
|
In a low-scoring game between West Virginia and Lakewood, pitcher Mike Gallegos was excellent. The West Virginia right-hander helped his team knock off the BlueClaws, 3-1. Gallegos, the winner, moves to 3-0. He threw 5 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. Billy Bly earned his 4th save, after closing out the game.
The Power got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Danny Funes. For the game, Funes was 1-1 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing triple. His 1st triple of the season gave West Virginia a 3-1 lead.
"I found a nice groove out there," said Gallegos.
The BlueClaws fall to 8-11 and continue their lackluster start in 2110.
