The West Virginia Power had to overcome a fine performance from Greenville pitcher Ricky Herrera to grab a 3-1 win at Fluor Field at the West End. Herrera allowed 3 runs over 6 innings. West Virginia reliever R.J. Ramos picked up the win to move to 6-2. Ricky Herrera suffered the loss. David Nowlin notched his 11th save in 17 chances.
Tom Marks helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run triple. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-0, Power.
"It's not about individual awards," Marks told a West Virginia Daily reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."
At 37-78, the Power are currently 5th in the Northern Division.
