Valentine Leads Fireflies to 13-4 Win Over Power
The home crowd had a good time watching the West Virginia Power and Columbia Fireflies get after it.

The Columbia Fireflies defeated the West Virginia Power, 13-4, at Spirit Communications Park. Columbia left fielder Jonathan Valentine had a superb performance. He went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 6. Columbia reliever Evan Andrews picked up the win, while Dave Felshaw took the loss for West Virginia.

Columbia took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Nate Joyner hit a run-scoring single to make it 5-4, Fireflies.

In postgame comments to the Columbia Today, Valentine said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

The win gives Columbia a record of 13-10.
