The Rome Braves beat the Greenville Drive, 9-5, at State Mutual Stadium. Rome second baseman Kevin Miniutti had the hot bat. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Greenville, with the loss, is 11-14.

Pat Hays helped out the Rome cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the left fielder went 3-4 with 2 triples and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Rome manager Tim Helfrich.
