Red-Hot Power Win Again
|
The West Virginia Power took Kannapolis pitcher Orlando Rocha's best shot and still were able to claim a win at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. The final score had West Virginia getting past the Intimidators, 1-0. Rocha went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 3. Billy Bly was credited with the save for West Virginia, his 7th of the season. Kannapolis now is 14-12.
The Intimidators had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Power going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old right fielder Steve Urich came to the plate. Urich hit a solo home run on a 2-2 curveball from Kannapolis hurler Orlando Rocha. It was Urich's 5th home run of the year.
"Good teams find a way to win close games," Urich said.
