Tourists Win 1-0 Walk-Off
|
The Hagerstown Suns wasted an inspired, 7.1-inning effort from starter Mike Carr, falling, 1-0, to the Asheville Tourists in 10 innings at McCormick Field. Asheville goes to 15-11.
Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, 20-year old center fielder Tadeu Farinha had a chance to be the hero. Hagerstown pitcher Pat Taylor wanted to foil that plan. But with no outs, Farinha hit a sacrifice fly. The Tourists had themselves a thrilling win.
"Tough wins, hard-earned wins, feel extra good," said Farinha.
