The Asheville Tourists got a sterling performance from designated hitter Matt Grindy, but the West Virginia Power still prevailed, 7-6. Grindy went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. The loss drops the Tourists to 10-18.

Mario Sierra was the walk-off hero for West Virginia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Power left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said West Virginia manager Danny Palma.
