Lake Olmstead Stadium was the site for South Atlantic League action featuring the Columbia Fireflies and Augusta GreenJackets.

Augusta pitcher John Baxter did his part in helping his team beat the Columbia Fireflies, 4-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Bill England picked up the save for Augusta, his 7th of the year.

Alex Silva had a big run-scoring double for the GreenJackets in the bottom of the second inning. With Augusta leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Jarvis Gagon and swatted a double to left. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the GreenJackets ahead, 2-0.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Augusta manager Bill Mercado.

Columbia drops to 17-11.
