Crawdads Suffer 5-2 Loss to Grasshoppers
The Greensboro Grasshoppers got a stellar effort from pitcher Oscar Gonzalez, helping Greensboro score a win over the visiting Hickory Crawdads, 5-2. Greensboro reliever Oscar Gonzalez got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Mike Smith was tagged with the loss. Getting the save was Javier Villarreal, his 2nd.

Chris McNally had a big 2-run triple for the Grasshoppers in the bottom of the first inning. With Greensboro leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Mike Smith, who is tied for 8th in the SAL in wins with 3, and swatted a triple to right. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Grasshoppers ahead, 3-0.

McNally said his team "executed a good game plan."

With the win over Hickory, the Grasshoppers improved to 13-16.
