Tourists Claim 6-1 Triumph

The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Asheville fans at McCormick Field.
The Asheville Tourists topped the Greenville Drive, 6-1, in South Atlantic League action at McCormick Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Asheville pitcher Wayne Morales. Morales yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 0, and struck out 7. His record improves to 2-2. Earning his 4th save of the year was Luis Bugarin.
In the bottom of the sixth, Asheville left fielder Tadeu Farinha gave his team the lead. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Heartthrob hit his 3rd double of the year. Greenville pitcher Bryan Demeule surrendered it. With that, the Tourists jumped in front, 2-1.
"Good win for us," said Farinha. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
After today's action, Asheville sits at 18-12, while Greenville falls to 10-20.
