Legends Get 6-2 Win Versus Kannapolis
The Lexington Legends stymied the Kannapolis Intimidators, 6-2, at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Will Gilmore had a good day at the plate. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for Lexington. Kyle McDonald was the winning pitcher. Over 8.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. The save went to Joel Wiegand, number 8 for him.

With Lexington leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Gilmore batted against Kannapolis pitcher Juan Galvan. Gilmore hit a changeup to left for a run-scoring double. His 4th double of the season put the Legends on top, 3-1.

"I was making good contact tonight," said Gilmore.

The win for the Legends raised their record to 16-16.
