The Greensboro Grasshoppers picked up a win at NewBridge Bank Park, taking down the Lexington Legends, 11-5. Starting pitcher Eric Nieto was a big reason why. Nieto yielded 3 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-0. The win makes Greensboro 11-21, nothing to write home about.

Ken Moore had a big 2-run home run for the Grasshoppers in the bottom of the third inning. With Greensboro trailing 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Eric Lamont and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Grasshoppers on top, 2-1.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Nieto.
