Braves Get Clutch Win Versus Kannapolis
The Rome Braves battled the Kannapolis Intimidators into extra innings before the outcome was decided. The Braves won it, finally, 7-6, in 11 innings. In the game, Rome catcher Mike Froman was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Dave Matlock came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. The 6th-place Braves have won 5 in a row.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the 11th for Rome. That's when Carlos Oliveros hit a run-scoring double off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Donald Delo to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"The house was rockin'," said Oliveros.
