The Lexington Legends were defeated, 4-1, by the Delmarva Shorebirds at Whitaker Bank Ballpark, even though Jorge Gurule pitched well for Lexington. Carlos Lucero sewed up the save, his 2nd. The defeat makes Lexington 22-12.

Delmarva used the timely hitting of Luke Bigley to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Shorebirds on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Makes our job easier," said Bigley, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
