Tourists Top Legends in Extras, 3-0
|
The Asheville Tourists had to overcome a good performance from Lexington pitcher Tom Gabriel to claim a 3-0 win at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Gabriel went 6.2 innings and allowed no runs. Asheville now owns a record of 17-18.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Mario Castillo? The 20-year old third baseman Castillo stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put Asheville up, 1-0. For the game, he was 4 for 5, including 2 doubles and 2 singles.
"It was a good effort all around," said Castillo.
