Shorebirds Dump Lexington, 5-0, to Win 4th in a Row
|
Behind the bravura of center fielder Isaiah Bostic, the Delmarva Shorebirds topped the Lexington Legends by the score of 5-0. Bostic was 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Shorebirds. Josh Eliason, the winner, improved to 5-2. He held Lexington to no runs on 6 hits over 6.1 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. The 5th-place Shorebirds go to 17-19.
Delmarva took a 5-0 lead on Bostic's 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Joel Horton in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Delmarva to the win.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Bostic said after the game.
