The Greenville Drive thumped the Kannapolis Intimidators, 8-1, at Fluor Field at the West End. Nick Pearson was a big reason his team got the win. Pearson hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 4. Bryan Demeule was the winner. He's now 1-1. The loser was Eric Nowicki. The Drive now have a record of 11-25.

Tony Hernandez had a big 2-run double for the Drive in the bottom of the first inning. With Greenville leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a curveball from Eric Nowicki, who is tied for 5th in the SAL in strikeouts with 46, and swatted a double to center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Drive ahead, 3-0.

"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager Brian Turek.
