Grasshoppers Take Tight Tilt, 3-2

Enthusiastic fans came out to support the home team at NewBridge Bank Park.
In a low-scoring clash between Greensboro and West Virginia, pitcher Justin Reed was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned praise for his performance in the 3-2 Grasshoppers win. The 5th-place Grasshoppers now have a record of 19-18.
Frank Gomez drove in one run for Greensboro. The 22-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Matt Loughran. It was his 14th RBI of the season.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said West Virginia manager Gerardo Zarco.
