Hagerstown Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
Columbia Fireflies starter Dave Hoffman turned in a top-notch performance against the Hagerstown Suns at Municipal Stadium. The result was a win for the Fireflies, 3-1. The 4th-place Fireflies have a record of 18-22.

Columbia used the hitting of Dave Bumpus to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Fireflies on top, 2-0. For the game, Bumpus had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"You can't take yourself too seriously," Bumpus told the Columbia Observer. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."
