Lexington Makes It 6 Straight with 5-2 Win
The Lexington Legends picked up a win at State Mutual Stadium, taking down the Rome Braves, 5-2. Starting pitcher Andy Kenney was a big reason why. Kenney, now 2-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Sheldon Jefferson earned the save, his 11th, for the Legends.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Chris Lawson? The 23-year old center fielder Lawson stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Lexington up, 5-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Lawson. "Just do my job."
