A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Lakewood BlueClaws and Greensboro Grasshoppers.

The Lakewood BlueClaws trumped the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 12-4, at First Energy Park. Lakewood catcher Chris Liesse was terrific. He was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Lakewood, at 21-19, sits in 4th place in the Northern Division.

The Grasshoppers had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the BlueClaws going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old center fielder Brian Baumbach came to the plate. Baumbach hit a 2-run double on a 3-1 fastball from Greensboro hurler Jose Franco. It was Baumbach's 11th double of the year.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Baumbach. "And not try to do too much."
