RiverDogs Go Down to Defeat, 5-2

At Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, the Charleston RiverDogs and Lexington Legends were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Behind an impressive start by Jake Niemann, Lexington beat Charleston, 5-2. Niemann yielded 2 runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-2. Chad Belz locked down his 3rd save.
Evan Starzynski had a key at-bat with two out in the top of the sixth for Lexington. With the bases loaded and the Legends leading 3-1, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Niemann.
Lexington, at 24-16, sits in first place in the Southern Division.
