Hickory pitcher Stephen Faris did his part in helping his team defeat the Kannapolis Intimidators, 4-0. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Nick Boucher earned the save for Hickory, his 2nd of the year. The defeat makes Kannapolis 26-15.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jake Dunn? The Hickory center fielder had a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Crawdads on top, 1-0. For the game, Dunn had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I think every team will tell you that the pitching sets the tone, especially the starters," said Hickory skipper Jordan Castro.
