The home team gave the crowd at Municipal Stadium something to cheer about.

The performance of J.J. Braun proved critical in helping Hagerstown beat Hickory, 7-0. The Suns designated hitter was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Bill Van Natta wrapped it up, recording his 2nd save.

With Hagerstown leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Braun hit a sinker from Mike Bellows for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Suns ahead, 3-0.

"J.J. is still learning," said Suns manager Chris Schneider. "The sky's the limit for him."

The Suns now have a record of 29-13 with the win over Hickory.
