Skidding Tourists Lose 11th Straight
The Lexington Legends eked out a 3-2 win versus the Asheville Tourists at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Matt Heidt. He was terrific. The winner in relief was Ed Ford. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 3-3. Juan Sanchez earned the save for Lexington, his 5th of the year.

Lexington took a 2-0 lead on Josh Washington's 4th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Asheville pitcher Daniel Gradilla in the bottom of the eighth.

After the game, Lexington manager Willie Elizondo applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.

The slumping Tourists have lost 11 straight.
