Pete Kasper, who is tied for 10th in the SAL in wins with 4, had a strong outing for the Rome Braves against the Asheville Tourists at State Mutual Stadium. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. Brett DiFabio got credit for the win, improving to 5-2. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. Rome is second in the Southern Division with a record of 24-20.

Rome got a clutch hit from Miguel Cardenas. The pinch hitter launched a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a kill shot.

"We found a way to get it done," Cardenas said.
