Vasquez Schools Charleston in 6-0 Lexington Triumph
|
Lexington starter Santiago Vasquez put the Charleston offense in a vise grip. The left-hander relied heavily on his fastball in leading the Legends to a 6-0 win. Their 32-13 record puts the Legends first in the Southern Division.
Vasquez was in the zone all game. He frustrated Charleston hitters while giving the Legends 7 innings of quality work. Vasquez threw 97 pitches, allowing 1 hit and getting 8 punchouts.
Afterward, Charleston manager Brandon Lacey said: "We were guessing wrong on pitches, and that's something we've got to get away from."
