At NewBridge Bank Park, the Greensboro Grasshoppers and Hickory Crawdads were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Hickory Crawdads picked up a win at NewBridge Bank Park, topping the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 5-0. On the mound for Hickory was right-hander Mike Daugherty. He played a principal role in the triumph. Ricardo Campos was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.

Mauricio Elizondo dealt the Grasshoppers a blow in the top of the fifth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Hickory leading 2-0, Elizondo, who is tied for 4th in the SAL with a .309 batting average, hit a full count curveball for a 2-run single.

"It's good to win," Elizondo told the Hickory Bulletin. "I like to have fun doing it."

With the win, Hickory pushed its record to 24-23.
